My new beauty

Here is my new classical guitar. It is a Spanish one, and it plays and sounds so well!

Esteve model 3
  • top : solid spruce
  • back and sides : dark stained African mahogany (sapelli)
  • neck : mahogany
  • fingerboard, headstock upper face and saddle : Indian rosewood
  • white wood purfling around top, back, along the back centerline and on saddle string holder
  • tuners : deluxe, silver
  • strings : Savarez, standard tension
Now I need to have it set up by a luthier. The factory settings aren't that good for a good and accurate play. Following my guitar teacher's advice, I'll also ask to change the neck and saddle nuts : the default ones are made of plasctic, and it'll be way better to put bone ones. Bone will be worth the change because it'll bring a better sound and more accuracy and stability to the strings. Also, the luthier will set the nuts in order to get a lower string action (action is the distance between strings and fingerboard). Then the guitar playability will be the best for me.

Avoine Zone Blues festival

June 30 - July 3, Avoine, France

www.avoine-zone-blues.com

Among all the French artists scheduled, Johnny Winter will perform a gig on July 2!!! And only for the pleasure to share and play music together, a big ensemble gig (1000 acoustic guitarists and singers) will be set up on July 3, open to all, amateurs or pros, no matter your level of play. I'm going to suscribe in order to join in this cool event :)

If some of you are in France and in that area (it's near Tours, where I live), please come over there!

In da mix ;)

Techno, electronic music, DJ mixing... these styles aren't part of the music I play, but there are part of the music I listen to. Of course it's not something I'm very keen on, however I always like something when it is artistic and well done.

Haya Waska is a DJ girl and a friend of mine. She's been mixing and scratching only for a few years, but she already sounds great - in my humble opinion. Mixing is a passion for her and I wish her all the best for the future. Please go and visit her Myspace page :

You can even leave a comment to her in English as she fluently speaks this language!

An amazing acoustic version of 'Gimme Shelter' (The Rolling Stones). Stunning!!!

The Gibson Les Paul Faded is the cheapest, genuine Les Paul guitar made by Gibson USA. Now the legend can be affordable (around €650). The look is sobre, but the building and the pickups are high-end quality. I guess next time I can change my current electric guitar, I'll go for this one for sure!

Here I go... This is my first message on this blog. I've decided to write all my message in English, just because I'd like to spread the word to the largest ammount of people. French is my mother language, a beautiful one, but unfortunately not the most spoken or written all over the internet.
I don't konw yet what I'm gonna talk about here. Maybe I'll share my love for music and playing the guitar, arts, a bit of high tech, any hobby of mine, life and so on.

So, welcome aboard and I hope you'll enjoy the journey!
